Project Summary:
Provide brief project abstract (Part A of project application).

The project will work with the major two-year college professional associations in the state to develop and offer professional development opportunities for career and technical deans and directors, new administrators and technical faculty. Associations involved will include TACE, TACTE, TCCIA, TCCTA, the Texas Leadership Consortium for Professional Development, the North Texas Consortium, the Northeast Texas Consortium.

Utilizing web resources developed during the 05/06 project year, the project will offer a web clearinghouse of information for administrators, including current announcements and activities, online training resources, and links to administrative support resources. As prescribed by the Texas Leadership Consortium for Professional Development and the project's statewide advisory committee and following guidelines such as the leadership model developed by the American Association of Community Colleges, the Alliance project will provide professional development opportunities as both live and self-paced online events in conjunction with the partnering statewide associations and as a part of an annual academy.

Consortium leaders at El Paso have been particularly helpful in brainstorming ideas related to the project and in providing feedback related to the upcoming webinars.

Based upon the input of the project advisory team, topics for the new year promise to take the project in exciting new directions with a number of new and repeated topics. A number of areas identified by the participants in the Summer Leadership Institute for 2006 have been collected and disseminated for review by project leaders, consortium staff, and through the professional development committee and the presidents of the member colleges of the Northeast Texas Consortium.

Using feedback from the groups, a revised list was distributed at the advisory committee meeting in January, including topics such as:

Integration of the program is occurring primarily through the continuation of the project advisory committee including representatives of other initiatives throughout the state.

The project is coordinating its activities with the plans of the Texas Leadership Consortium, including the coordinated move of the Consortium and the Leadership Alliance websites to a common server, in order to provide a "One Stop Shop" for Texas College Educator Training. The new site is located at www.texasperkins.org.

The project will also be presented at the Spring TACE conference.
